Thanks to Dribbble and Twitter, I just discovered the work of this illustrator, Michael Newhouse. Not only does he do work I envy, he writes an irreverently witty description of himself, his work, his business and life in Bozeman, Montana*.

Two illustrations inspired by the book «im hause enden die geschichten» by Paul Nizon. The illustrations are the work of Susanna Baer and Alex Sonderegger, principals of the Tokyo-based firm so+ba. The two were born in Switzerland, and their work seeks to find the convergence of two different visual cultures.

Here’s a compelling argument for keeping the post office alive and well: Two of Edward Gorey’s illustrated postcards to his editor and collaborator on three children’s books, Peter Neumeyer.

This image appears in a new book, Floating Worlds: The Letters of Edward Gorey and Peter F. Neumeyer, in which the Neumeyer publishes the never-before released correspondence with Gorey, an illustrator of the macabre and a personal favorite of mine.
