Artomatic returns!

My excitement is starting to build as the wonderfully chaotic Artomatic will be back in the D.C. area this year after a too-long hiatus. For those not familiar with the concept, Artomatic is a gathering place for any artist who wishes to show her work, open to all comers.

Besides hundreds of pieces of art to enjoy, the event now includes workshops for kids, a bar, musical performances, and other venues for community.

I attended an Artomatic in Frederick last year, where I discovered the photography of Daniele Piasecki. It was fun but was much more limited in scope. This year’s Artomatic promises to be the largest ever, and it’s being held in what used to be offices for the Pentagon. (Ironic, right?)
