Today’s sign of the apocalypse

Kissmetrics,  web analytics outfit, has a blog post dissecting troublesome website design elements that could cause people to leave, and how to fix them. They suggest hiring a good designer, because the choice of typefaces, color palette, and the like can have a significant influence on a site’s impression to visitors.

Here’s the disturbing part. If you don’t know a designer, Kissmetrics suggests checking out dribble (home to experienced, talented, and admittedly, sometimes overly hero-worshipped, designers), or 99designs, home to any hack with Photoshop willing to compete for a chance at as little as $100 for a logo. 

I wonder how Kissmetrics would feel about competing with anyone with a calculator and SEO buzzwords to get work.
