Artomatic returns!
My excitement is starting to build as the wonderfully chaotic Artomatic will be back in the D.C. area this year after a too-long hiatus. For those not familiar with the concept, Artomatic is a gathering place for any artist who wishes to show her work, open to all comers.
Besides hundreds of pieces of art to enjoy, the event now includes workshops for kids, a bar, musical performances, and...

Let’s Dance
Young British designer Amy Rodchester came up with an engaging and clever way to advertise a dance festival:
The design of the posters visualise any pair of feet in any pair of shoes being able to dance and aims to encourage people to step out of their comfort zone and try something new. The 3D element of the posters engages and intrigues viewers. Each poster targets a different generation,...

I just discovered this wonderful inspiration catalogue while trying to track down the designers behind Emporium Pies (that being Foundry Collective, at least based on looking at Emporium Pie’s style sheet).

I discovered this designer, Will Dean, thanks to Design Observer’s John Foster, who posts a weekly set of images under the title Accidental Mysteries.
Dean, a Raleigh, NC-based art director, graduated from VCU’s brand center (I studied design at VCU’s communications arts program). Besides doing enviable client work, Dean also happens to make beer—and design his own labels.
Yum!
